最近ノルマンヂーのドイツ海軍少将ヘネキウオルタ閣下は米軍上陸と共に我が軍門に降った。

Recently His Excellency Rear Admiral Walter Hennecke, the German Rear Admiral of Normandie, surrendered to our military with the landing of the U.S. forces.

第一次ヨーロッパ大戦の際にも閣下は二年間英軍の手中に入っていた事がある。

His Excellency had been in the hands of the British Army for two years during the First World War.

然しながら第一次ヨーロッパ大戦と今次世界大戦における成果には非常に勝れたものがある。

なぜ皆さんはいつも強い米軍から逃げなければならないのですか、なぜ戦争に負けて死ななければならないのですか。

Why must you all always flee from the powerful U.S. military? Why must you die in a losing war?

日本の将校は戦争の用意をする役目を持っていました、それで敵を滅すのに必要な武器を皆さんにやり戦争の仕方を考えるのが将校の仕事でした。

Japanese officers were in charge of preparing for war, and it was their job to provide everyone with the weapons they needed to destroy the enemy and to figure out how to wage war.

しかし内地からただ三百五十マイルしか離れていないこの島を米軍が取ろうとしています、この島を守る事が出来ず、その責任を持たなければならない将校はこの島から何時飛行機や潜水艦で逃げようかと今相談しています。

However, the U.S. military is about to take this island, which is only 350 miles from the mainland, and the officers who cannot defend it and have to take responsibility for it are now discussing when they will escape from the island by plane or submarine.

ですから皆さんはこの島に残って最後まで戦う必要はありません。
