本島民よ、台湾は東京進撃路上に在り

Main Islanders, Taiwan is on the way to Tokyo

一九四三年二月十二日、米大統領ルーズヴェルト氏は「東京への路は多々あり。吾人はその何れをも疎かにせず」と言明された。

On February 12, 1943, U.S. President Roosevelt stated, “There are many roads to Tokyo. I will not neglect any of them.”

これ実にカサブランカにおいける大統領と英首相チャーチル氏の有名な会議において、日本ドイツ等が無条件降伏するまでは英米は絶対に休戦せずと約された後の演説の一説である。

This is actually one of the speeches delivered after the famous meeting in Casablanca between President Churchill and British Prime Minister Churchill, where it was agreed that Britain and the U.S. would not armistice until the unconditional surrender of Japan, Germany, and other nations.

台湾は大統領の言はれた「東京への路」の一に跨っている、この路を疎かにしていない事は最近本島に在る日本軍事施設の爆撃で明らかである。

Taiwan straddles one of the "Roads to Tokyo" mentioned by the President, and the recent bombing of Japanese military facilities on the main island clearly shows that this road has not been neglected.

かつまた、日寇の首都東京に対する最後の太鼓婦撃にこの台湾路を他の路と共に使用するにはまず本島を日本より取らねばならないのである。

Moreover, in order to use this Taiwan route together with other routes for the final drumbeat against the Japanese invaders' capital, Tokyo, the main island must first be taken from Japan.

以上は則ち本島の倭夷を爆撃している理由を傳へると共に我々は諸君の良友であり、後日我が共通の敵日本の屈服に諸君の応援を勧迎する事を布告せんが為である。
